The story of the Good Samaritan in the Bible is so very memorable that we use the term "good Samaritan" as a term for helping others. The Samaritan helped the man who had been robbed after the "religious" leaders had passed him by because they were so worried about their position and their time. Upon reflecting on the story of the Good Samaritan, Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was: 'If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?' But . . . the good Samaritan reversed the question: 'If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?'
We love this quote in our organization! We need donors like you to "stop and help" those that come to us with crises and need in their lives. In order to daily operate our transitional housing programs and in order to increase the help and hope we give to those that are homeless in our community, we rely on your support. Consider giving monthly, one-time, or annually, to help support the ministry of Good News Homes. "If I do not stop and help this man, what will happen to him?"
